First Day of School Information

This is a friendly reminder that the First Day of School for students is *Wednesday, September 6, 2023! (*Students enrolled at Vails Gate School will begin on Thursday, September 7th). Below, please find some important reminders to help prepare for a successful new year!

The calendar for the 2023-2024 school year can be found on the district website, on the right hand side of the page, a few scrolls down. Add important school and district dates, including letter days, to your personal calendar by following these instructions.

Transportation information will be updated leading up to the new school year and can be found by clicking this link: https://www.newburghschools.org/news.php?storynum=5515 Please expect the transportation schedule to be slightly delayed during the first few weeks of the new school year as students, families, and drivers become familiar with new bus routes and routines. 

The district provided more than 1,200 backpacks to NECSD students at our annual School is Cool!: A Back to School Celebration on Saturday, August 19th. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this traditional event!

Make sure your Parent Portal information is up to date, so you can remain informed as a partner in your child's education.

Any questions specific to your child and/or your child's specific school should be directed to the school building. Keep an eye on the district website for postings and calendar events as each school schedules their Back to School event and transitional orientations.
