Family and Community Engagement
Welcome to the FACE Webpage
Hello and welcome to the Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Family and Community Engagement (FACE) webpage.
The page has informative strategies, resources and supports to assist families in the valuable and complex work of parenting. The site also offers information to enable families to support the academic and social-emotional growth of their child. The Newburgh Enlarged City School District appreciates the significant role that families play in the lives of their children and how families and vested stakeholders shape communities in which we live. The home is the first place of learning and families create environments, encourage values, and teach life lessons which shape how children see themselves and others, and the world around them. Families have the ability to motivate young minds to have a thirst for learning and dreaming, which is why the Newburgh Enlarged City School District believes that partnership and collaboration with families and the community are vital to the education of a child. Successful partnerships and collaborations lead to diversity and inclusion, creative solutions, and fulfilling the needs of all learners in our school district.
We encourage families to be engaged in their child’s education through involvement at their child’s school and working with their child at home. For ways to be involved in your child’s school please contact your child’s building principal, review school calendars and newsletters for upcoming events, join or like Social Media sites (district, school, PTO/PTA), download the Newburgh App and Apps used by teachers, and speak to PTA/PTO and Booster Clubs members. To be a volunteer at the District-level please contact Mrs. Pamela Peterson, Director of Family and Community Engagement. Please also take advantage of family engagement events offered at schools and by the District.
The NECSD endeavors to make this webpage useful, accessible, and easy to use, so if you have any suggestions regarding this webpage, please email Mrs. Pamela Peterson at ppeterson@necsd.net. Feel free to provide feedback and ideas regarding school-based and district-level parent involvement and education events as well. Thank you, and remember - get involved!
