District Letter About Student-Needs After Election
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The 2016-2017 Newburgh Enlarged City School District mantra is #ValuesMatter and there is no better time than today to discuss some of the values that are most important in our society: respect, kindness, leadership, diversity, collaboration, and tolerance. The following information is in response to student-needs following the election on Tuesday.
An online resources, Teaching Tolerance, has information that might be helpful for parents and educators and for students who would like to devle into issues of bias, immigration, civics, civility, and respect. In addition, Newsela is a great resource for leveled current event articles in English and Spanish, including articles about how the President is elected in the U.S.: http://www.newsela.com
