NFAM Scholars Test Their Final Project on GAMS Kindergarten Scholars!
Scholars from Ms. Elizabeth Cappello’s Digital Animation Class at Newburgh Free Academy, Main Campus walked over to Gidney Avenue Memorial School to test their products on some younger, Kindergarten scholars in Mrs. Mackenzie Collard’s class. Students from both schools worked together in the GAMS interactive learning space to test out the creation of the older students.
These 10th and 11th grade scholars each created a video game for younger kids. Using Character Animator, an Adobe product, students wrote a script, voice recorded their character script (some were recorded in Spanish), and added effects using After Effects, another Adobe product.
The collaboration was an effort to show case learning, get the two grades together in a creative and fun way, and to encourage younger kids get excited about opportunities for when they get older.
