Scholars at Newburgh Free Academy, West Campus Hosted a Fighting for Awareness Assembly
Students at Newburgh Free Academy, West Campus hosted a Fighting for Awareness assembly that that focused on issues surrounding LGBTQ+, mental health, disabilities, and bullying.
Mary Marin facilitated the depression, anxiety and suicide class, Chelsea Amaro facilitated the LGBTQ+ class, Ash Gonzalez helped to facilitate a session on disabilities, and Madison Jasso facilitated the Bullying awareness class.
After the student facilitated sections, Ms. Gina Dellatte, teacher at Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus gave a presentation about her personal experiences.
