Newburgh Free Academy, Main Campus Music Department Hosts their Spring Concert II
Newburgh Free Academy, Main Campus Music Department hosted their Spring Concert II on May 10, 2018. Ms. Susan Valentino, assistant principal at Newburgh Free Academy, Main Campus welcomed students and their families to the performance.
Performances were given by: A Cappella Mixed Chorus, Concert Band, Orchestra, Madigrals, and Jazz Band.
A Cappella Mixed Chorus is conducted by Ms. Jillian Caci and accompanied by Mrs. Karin McCartney. Performances included: The Star-Spangled Banner (John Stafford Smith), Festival Sanctus (John Leavitt), Tango to Evra (Loreena mcKennitt/ arr. Washburn), Dirait-on (Morten Lauridesen). The A Capella Mixed Chorus concluded their portion of the evening by inviting all students in the audience who participated in all-district chorus to sign You Will Be Found (Benj Pasek & Justin Paul/arr. M. Huff).
Concert Band is conducted by Mr. Chris Zoutis. Performances included: Centennial (Carl Strommen) and Overture for a Coronation (James D. Ployhar).
Orchestra is conducted by Mrs. Monica Atonelli-Guido. Performances included: Carmen Suite (Georges Bizet/arr. Parrish, Aragonaise, Habanera, Les Toreadors), Bohemian Rhapsody (F. Mercury/arr. Berry), and Farandole (G. Bizet/arr. Stone).
Madrigals is conducted by Ms. Jillian Caci and accompanied by Mrs. Karin McCartney. Performances included: The Cuckoo (Dominick DiOrio), Trickle Trickle (Clarence Bassett/arr. S. Zegree), (I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons (William Best/arr. P. Langford), Sing! (Mitchell Grassi et al./arr. M. Brymer), and For All We Know (Brent Pierce).
Jazz Band is conducted by Mr. Chris Zoutis. Performances included: Fly Me to the Moon (Bart Howard/ arr. S. Nestico), Confirmation (Charlie Parker/arr. D. Rivello), and Barnburner (Les Hopper).
