A Letter Regarding the AP World History Exam
May 24, 2018
Dear Newburgh Free Academy families,
This morning, some high school scholars were scheduled to take the Advanced Placement World History exam. Exams are provided by The College Board and are sealed until students receive them at the scheduled testing time.
Upon unsealing the exams, several students recognized that there was an issue with the exam they received. Students immediately reported their concerns to the proctors in their room. The proctors then reported the issue as required.
Issues included: questions missing, pages missing, booklets that were organized incorrectly. Some students were able to fully complete the exam, however as the test progressed it was clear that there was a significant issue with the assembly of dozens of the exams.
As a result, The College Board decided to reschedule the AP World History exam as a result of the pervasive concerns with the completeness of the exams. We are working to resolve this issue with The College Board. A new date and time will be provided as soon as we have confirmation.
We send our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused for you and your child(ren). We know that preparing for this test may be difficult and we appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure our scholars have an opportunity to fully complete the exam.
Through the work of all,
Christopher Bayer
Executive Director for Exceptional Learners
