Latino Family Literacy Project Graduates 16 Families Across Meadow Hill and Balmville Schools!
The district's Latino Family Literacy Project graduated a total of sixteen families across Balmville and Meadow Hill schools earlier this month, May 2018. This program was an initiative of the district's Family and Community Engagement and Curriculum and Instruction offices. Parents that participated sacrificed their Saturday's and week nights over a ten week period in order to learn literacy strategies and best practices in both English and Spanish, in order to better support their scholars at home. The program is still running at Gardnertown Leadership Academy where an additional six families will graduate next month. A graduation ceremony and dinner reception was held for the families that have successfully completed the program so far. See a photo recap here of the event! Join us in congratulating these parents!
