District Statement About Weekend Shooting
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District joins with the Newburgh community as we mourn the loss of two young lives lost in a tragic shooting early Sunday morning. In addition, countless other lives were forever altered in this senseless act of violence.
At this time, we respectfully ask for privacy for our students and staff. Counseling interventionists are on hand to support NECSD students and families as well as district staff.
In addition, principals have been directed to cancel all afterschool programs at 5 p.m. for Monday, October 31st.
