Ignacio Salim, PTECH Excelsior Academy at NFA, North Campus Awarded a President’s Volunteer Service Award!
Ignacio Salim, PTECH Excelsior Academy at Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus was awarded a President’s Volunteer Service Award this week. On hand to present this honor was Dr. Roberto Padilla, Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Kevin Rothman, Principal of Excelsior Academy. Also in attendance were Mr. Matteo Doddo, Co-Principal of Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus, Dr. Lynne Pampel, Director of Pupil Personnel, and several teachers and students.
A letter from the President of the United States read: “Congratulations on receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award. On behalf of a grateful Nation, I thank you for your service to your fellow Americans and those most in need. Through your dedicated service, you have ensured the continuation of America’s unparalleled commitment to improving the lives of others.”
Of the award and his commitment to service, Iggy said: "Leadership is the base of every platform, there when you are falling, and there to support you as you rise. Leadership is not about titles or recognition but for the joy in helping others succeed to their fullest potential."
