A letter from Mr. Doddo, co-Principal of NFA North to students and families at Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus
February 28, 2018
Dear Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus families,
I am writing to inform you of an incident that took place this morning at Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus. It was reported that two students were involved in a verbal altercation and it is alleged that one student made a verbal threat to an individual student and another threat to harm the entire school. The situation was immediately de-escalated. Each student was addressed according to the District Code of Conduct. Security monitors and our School Resource Officer escorted the individual student that allegedly made the threats, out of the school and placed him in a patrol car. The student was then taken to the City of Newburgh Police Department.
As you know, the safety of our students and faculty is our highest priority. Please help us remind your child(ren) to speak to an adult if they ever hear of this type of threat to their school. It is through the work of all that we are able to love, support, and protect our scholars.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our central office at (845) 563-3400.
