NECSD McKinney-Vento Liaison Speaks at Collaborative Event Fighting Food Insecurity
The Regional Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and Garnet Health Medical Center teamed up to introduce a new product they say will have a major effect on fighting food insecurity in the Hudson Valley. The prepackaged meals are the creations of John Doherty, founder of Hope Kitchen and former executive chef at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
Mrs. Kori Rogers, NECSD McKinney-Vento Liaison, a member of the district's Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team, had the honor of speaking at this event to share the impact of children’s food programs in the NECSD. Hope Kitchen’s shelf-stable meals are designed to support our food-insecure neighbors. These healthy and nutritious meals will play a vital role in some of our key programs, including the School Backpack program and School Pantries.
