Temple Hill Academy Celebrates "Commanding" Second Language Achievements
Temple Hill Academy hosted an ENL (English as a New Language) Informational Breakfast for families as well as celebrate the success of students accomplishing Commanding on the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT).
Parents learned about the different Language Acquisition Programs in our school and district. During the session, parents were informed about the ENL units/hours and levels of study, testing standards and schedules, reading level expectations, parent involvement tips, local organizations that can assist with continuing education for families, and so much more.
Additionally, families learned of the district learning opportunities offered such as Saturday Academy, Extended School Day Programs, and the Extended Year Program, as well as, parent resources and information available on the New York State Education website through the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages.
We also took the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the students who achieved a Commanding/Exiting Score on the NYSESLAT.
