Celebrating NYS School Board Recognition Week
Each October, districts across the state take a moment to recognize the efforts of their School Board. Trustees volunteer their time to support the educational mission and vision of our district. We appreciate your efforts and look forward to working together professionally in the best interest of our scholars. We have a small token of our appreciation as a display of our thanks for your commitment to every Goldback, every day.

What does being a Board of Education member mean?
The Board of Education members are a nine person policy-making body which operates within the laws of the State of New York. Each member is elected for a three-year term; terms of office are staggered with elections held every year. The Board is responsible for approving the district's budget, adopting all policies and curriculum, and evaluating the superintendent. The authority of the Board is as a whole and no Board member may act as an official of the district except when the board meets in a regular or a special session. The Board of Trustees are elected to represent all of the people of the school district. In making its decisions, the Board is guided by what is in the best interest of the entire district.
More information about the Board of Education can be found by visiting the General Information tab of the Board of Ed section on our website.
