GUIDELINES FOR NCAA SIGNING DAYS 2024-2025
To honor and celebrate our senior/graduating student-athlete Goldbacks who will be continuing their athletic careers in college, Newburgh Free Academy has established guidelines for signing days. We have aligned our dates and protocols with the official NCAA signing periods, which are coordinated with the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program. The NLI is a binding agreement between the student-athlete and a Division I or Division II academic institution, which has offered the student-athlete financial assistance. We also have signing day for Division III student-athletes and for those who have verbally committed with no financial offer in the spring.
The athletics office will invite and share signing day photographs and information with the local media. Student-athletes planning to continue their athletic careers in college should let the athletics office know as soon as the NLI has been made available or the student has been admitted to the academic institution.
