NFA West Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month
NFA West celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday, October 11, 2024. During their weekly morning meeting, students learned about the Latino culture through food, music and the celebration of Latino flags through a "Flag Parade." Students also participated in a Big Picture Learning Program "Pick me up" large group activity. Each advisory had to "Guess the Spanish food recipe" by tasting Spanish rice that was prepared by Ms. Jessica DeJesus, NECSD Food Service Worker. In addition, during lunch periods students learned a variety of Spanish dances like salsa, bachata and cumbia taught by students at NFA West. Lastly, NFA West student and business owner, 10th grade student, Madison Francis brought in a "360 machine" to help celebrate music and dance fun.
