South Middle School Hosts Movie Night: SCREENAGERS

Student Government students from South Middle School hosted a movie night for students and families. Families enjoyed popcorn and the movie. Afterward, Ms. Jen Ostrow, social worker and Mr. Kareem Donaldson, school counselor led a discussion about the movie and the emotional health of students as it relates to technology. Students and families shared a meal in the school cafeteria after the film an discussion. 

Student Government also set up a survey for students and parents to take about their use of technology. Mr. Dennis Maher and Ms. Conchetta Carbone co-advise Student Government.

SCREENAGERS addresses the most pervasive parenting issue of our time head on—depicting teen struggles over social media, video games and internet addiction. The film empowers kids to best navigate the digital world and provides practical resources to help them do it.
