Two Athletes Honored at OCIAA Scholar-Athlete Reception
Matthew Patterson and Malia Robinson were honored today at the Orange County Inter-scholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Scholar-Athlete breakfast this year.
Matthew competed at the Varsity level for Football (Captain, Section IX Champion, League & Regional Champion, State Qualifier, All-Star team), Varsity Swimming & Diving, and Lacrosse (Captain). Outside of athletics, Matthew is a My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Fellow for NYS, Key Club, Peer Group Counseling (PGC) member, Band Concert and Marching Band performer. Matthew has enlisted in the Marine Corps while pursuing his post-secondary education.
Malia competed at the Varsity level for Varsity Soccer (Captain), Varsity Lacrosse). Off the playing field, Malia was a member of the national Honor Society and Colonnade, a Balmville Grange member, NECSD Literacy Ambassador, NFA Peer Tutor, SUNY Orange Liberty Partnership for Youth Soccer, Washingtonville Lady Lightning Club Soccer, Soccer Referee for Town of Newburgh Recreation Department, Intern with Tectonic Engineer Consultants. Next year, Malia plans to attend Washington University.
