New Windsor School Scholars Become Published Authors
Ms. Ramaglia and Ms. Kennedy's class in New Windsor School worked through the complete writing process to become published authors. Students brainstormed ideas ending on an overall theme of the solar eclipse and/or outer space. Then they created a rough draft of a story with a beginning, middle and end, revised their writing, peer edited, and wrote their final draft. Their final touch was to do a draft of an illustration related to one of the scenes and to create a final one. When everyone was done, Ms. Ramaglia compiled the manuscript and just like that, we had a completed book of short stories.
With a sweet twist, Ms. Ramaglia's friends and family purchased enough books so that every student could be proud owners of the book they have a short story published. These students worked so hard and we are very proud of them!
