2024 NFA Main Orchestra Performs at NYSSMA Majors

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 the NFA Main Orchestra performed at the New York State School Music Association's (NYSSMA) Majors Clinic Evaluation at Wallkill High School. The Orchestra performed two pieces from their recent spring concert for two accredited NYSSMA Adjudicators for evaluative feedback and comments. After their performance, the students rehearsed with one of the adjudicators and learned to execute and refine certain technical and expressive elements from their music. The NYSSMA Clinic Evaluation is a new program which offers the students and director an opportunity to work directly with and learn from accredited professionals within the field of music education and ensemble performance. This was an invaluable experience for the orchestra and its director and they plan to use what was learned from this evaluation when studying new music for next year.
