New Windsor School Celebrates The Month of the Military Child with a “Purple Up” Assembly
New Windsor School Students and staff celebrated The Month of the Military Child with a “Purple Up” assembly. The school welcomed five esteemed guest speakers, each one presenting a unique perspective on military service and its implications and impacts on the children of those who serve. The speakers fielded questions from the New Windsor School Student Leadership Team and did not disappoint with their answers. Our guests were Cornwall Mayor and retired Army Captain James Gagliano, NWS Teaching assistant and military child Sheila Manning, retired Army Colonel Jennifer Caci, retired Army Healthcare Specialist Kathryn Mininni, and retired Newburgh Teacher and military child John Eitel, Jr. This event was coordinated and facilitated by the NWS administration, school counselor Jason Michalek, school counseling intern Alix Cifferi who designed the literature and ran the assembly, and with special thanks to the second-grade class of Kathleen Hand and Stephanie Gordon for the decorations!
