National School Lunch Hero Day Celebrations!
The first Friday in May is National School Lunch Hero Day! Our School Lunch Heroes are some of the first people to arrive at our schools each day and often interact with every Goldback, every single day! We are so grateful for their dedication and commitment to providing nutritional meals to our scholars each and every day! As a friendly reminder, the district provides breakfast and lunch for every at no cost to them, offering additional support to our families.
What is a superhero? Is it someone who flies through the sky and shows up in a shiny suit? Or is it also someone who greets you with a compassionate smile and delicious meals that strengthen your mind, your body, and your spirit?
We have an incredible team of superheroes who walk among us every single day in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District. They arrive early in the morning in every single one of our schools. They bring the best of themselves to empower us with kind words and feed our scholars twice a day and sometimes more. That results in hundreds of thousands of meals every year.
What is a superhero? They are the men and women of our amazing Newburgh community that show up every day in our school cafeteria cooking and serving our breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and dinners. They are the mothers, daughters, sisters, brothers, friends, and even the grandmothers of our beloved community who encourage and nourish our scholars to be their best.
We hope that our community always expresses their thanks to our local superheroes. They are here for every Goldback, every day!
