National School Breakfast Week | March 4-8
This week is National School Breakfast Week! The Newburgh Enlarged City School District offers free breakfast to all students as they arrive to school each morning. In addition to providing a nutritious meal to start the day, the federal school breakfast program saves precious time during the morning rush and allows families to re-allocate their family budget to help meet their needs. More information about National School Breakfast Week is provided by the School Nutrition Association and Food Research & Action Center.
According to the School Nutrition Association, children who eat breakfast are more likely to:
- Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
- Score higher on standardized tests
- Have better concentration and memory
- Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight
Mark your calendars to celebrate our School Lunch Heroes on Friday, May 3, 2024!
