GUIDELINES FOR SENIOR NCAA SIGNING DAYS 2023-2024
To honor and celebrate our senior student-athlete Goldbacks who will be continuing their athletic careers in college, Newburgh Free Academy has established guidelines for signing days. We have aligned our dates with the official NCAA signing periods, which are coordinated with the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program. The NLI is a binding agreement between the student-athlete and a Division I or Division I academic institution, which has offered the student-athlete financial assistance. We also have a spring signing day for Division III student-athletes.
The athletics office will share signing day photographs and information with the local media. Student-athletes planning to continue their athletic careers in college should let the athletics office know as soon as the NLI has been made available or the student has been admitted to the academic institution.

All student-athletes who have an NLI will be recognized during this signing session an all other Division I and Division II athletes that commitment to schools after the November 9 signing date. Based on the NCAA’s recommendation, student-athletes with a commitment to a Division I or Division II institution that does not offer NLIs (Ivy League Schools and Service Academies, for example) will be invited to participate.

All student-athletes who will be continuing their athletic careers at a Division III school will be recognized during this session. Student-athletes may bring or upload the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Celebratory Signing Form from the College.
