NFA West 9th Grade Students "Root for Trees" in Downing Park
Thursdays are for “Leave to Learn” opportunities at NFA West. 9th grade students participated in the second of a series of events in partnership with The Garden Club of Orange and Dutchess Counties. The “Root For Trees” program is designed to support the revitalization effort for Downing Park. During this visit, they learned more about the park's original plan and purpose and visited sites around the park to determine plans to restore it in the style of the original designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. A special thanks to the garden club master volunteers who shared their knowledge and delicious cookies.
