21st Century After School Program - Educators Experience Innovative Professional Development in Math & Movement!

Nineteen 21^st Century teachers and teachers assistants attended a Professional Development interactive workshop on using Math & Movement.  Math & Movement was created by Suzy Koontz.

Math & Movement uses multi-sensory learning approaches to teach students valuable skills to succeed in their school’s math and reading curricula. Math & Movement recognizes that students learn through different styles which is why our exercises include teaching with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic elements aligned with most state standards.

The learning process is more effective and easier when students exercise their bodies and minds simultaneously through educational math games, helping students retain more information. This, in turn, increases students test scores, self-confidence, and retention rates.

Best of all, kids love to learn this way! Especially when worksheets become cool math games. See photos of them in action!
