NFA West hosts their 7th Annual College and Career Expo
NFA West hosted its annual College and Career Expo Day which gives NFA West students in grade 9-12 the opportunity to learn about college and career options. As apart of the project based learning model at the school, School Counselor, Lakeya Stukes worked with the senior class to create six “Dream Colleges and Career Programs". The students used the content learned during the college and career information sessions to create their "ideal college and/or career program”. Students in grades 9-11 had an opportunity to "apply" to these colleges in a competition.
College partnership programs supported this event by sharing admissions information and college students sharing their college experiences. The colleges and programs that participated in this event included, Mount Saint Mary College Higher Educational Opportunity Program (HEOP), Collegiate Science and Technology Program (CSTEP), Education Department students, Vassar College “Exploring College Program” and SUNY Polytechnic Admissions Department.
