NFA P-TECH Students Apply Lessons While Volunteering in Our Community
On October 23, students from NFA P-TECH spent the day volunteering at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in Cornwall. They were able to apply their learning from science classes as they saw firsthand what invasive species are doing to the local ecosystem. Student volunteers cleared over thirty contractor bags worth of Japanese knotweed and Japanese barberry from the forest and met with members of the Board of Directors. Several of our young scholars have plans to return and volunteer there on upcoming weekends. Kudos for their hard work.
