NFA West 9th Grade Students Take “Leaving to Learn” Trip to Downing Park
The Garden Club of Orange and Dutchess Counties are partnering with NFA West with “Roots For Trees”, an educational program designed to support the revitalization effort for Downing Park. Students from Mrs. Noelle Brand and Mrs. Kylene D’Alfonso’s Advisories were hosted at Downing Park with a kick off event. Students were each outfitted with a set of gardening tools that will be utilized throughout the experience. The students planted spring flowering bulbs to beautify the park. The Garden Club’s mission is to “promote education in conservation, aid in the protection of native plants and birds, and to foster the interest and education of young people in nature.” The students thoroughly enjoyed their Leave to Learn experience at Downing Park!
