NFA Marching Band Performs for Purple Heart Ceremony
The Newburgh Free Academy Marching Band performed at a Purple Heart Ceremony at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center last week. The National Purple Heart Honor Mission saluted their 2023 Purple Heart Patriot Project Mission honorees with a public Welcome Home Rally at the Armory.
Sergeant Major and NFA Alumna, Mary Kay Messenger from the West Point Army Band sang the National Anthem with accompaniment from the NFA Marching Band. The marching band also played a series of patriotic tunes as guests arrived. The NFA Marching Band was greeted by Mr. William Kaplan, NFA class of 1945.
The NFA Marching Band is directed by Ms. Kristina Martorano with assistance from Dr. Paul Carroll.
