Welcome Letter for Gardnertown Leadership Academy Families

Dear GLA Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. I hope that you had a relaxing and meaningful summer. We look forward to the opening of school on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. I am a firm believer that a strong start to a school year is important to the success of our young leaders and our school community. Therefore, we are looking forward to receiving our rested and eager leaders next week for a new school year.

I wanted to take a moment to wish Dr. Isabela Carias Vazquez great success in her new role as  Principal of Fostertown Elementary School. We are grateful for all of her leadership and dedication to the students,  families, and staff at Gardnertown Leadership Academy (GLA). 

Welcome to our Interim Assistant Principal, Ms. Maureen Ryan. She will work with us at GLA until our new Assistant Principal begins.

We are looking to launch the school year with the following events:

Kindergarten Orientation - Friday, September 1st at 1:30 pm

Pre-K Orientation - Student last name starts with A through M - Tuesday, September 5th, 1:30 p.m.

                                 Student last name starts with N through Z - Tuesday, September 5th, 2:30 p.m.

GLA Open House - Thursday, September 14th at 6:00 pm

• 6:00 - 6:25 pm - Title 1 and Staff Introduction
• 6:30 - 6:45 pm - Session 1
• 6:45 - 7:00 pm - Session 2
• 7:00 - 7:15 pm - Session 3 

Please be prepared to present ID anytime you come to the building.

Bienvenidos al año escolar 2023-2024. Espero que hayas tenido un verano relajante y significativo. Esperamos con ansias la apertura de clases el miércoles 6 de septiembre de 2023. Creo firmemente que un buen comienzo del año escolar es importante para el éxito de nuestros jóvenes líderes y nuestra comunidad escolar. Por lo tanto, esperamos recibir a nuestros líderes descansados y ansiosos la próxima semana para un nuevo año escolar.

Quería tomarme un momento para desearle a la Dra. Isabela Carias Vázquez mucho éxito en su nuevo rol como directora de la Escuela Primaria Fostertown. Estamos agradecidos por todo su liderazgo y dedicación a los estudiantes, las familias y el personal de Gardnertown Leadership Academy (GLA).

Bienvenido a nuestra subdirectora interina, la Sra. Maureen Ryan. Ella trabajará con nosotros en GLA hasta que comience nuestro nuevo subdirector.

Esté preparado para presentar una identificación cada vez que venga al edificio.
