Welcome Back Letter for Horizons Kindergarten Families

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! We hope that you had a relaxing and rejuvenating summer.  If you are a new family welcome to Horizons and if you are a returning family welcome back.  My name is Gillian Matos and I am honored to be the principal of Horizons-on-the-Hudson. I work with our amazing assistant principal, Ms. Karriem Bunce. We both look forward to continuing to help your scholars grow and be supported here at HOH.

We believe that building strong and trusting relationships with our families is an integral part of developing our students and that this has a direct impact on our student learning. It is with great expectation that we look forward to working with you and your child/children. We are committed to seeing the students at Horizons-on-the-Hudson experience growth in all areas: academically, emotionally and socially. Like you, we want your child/children to flourish in our care.

As a team, we will bring our love of  learning, advancement, and achievement to our school, with the intention of seeing us rise to higher heights. Let’s soar Goldiebacks!

Important dates:

First day of school: Wednesday, September 6, 2023

Back to School Block Party/Open House: Wednesday, September 20th at 5:00pm

The District Transportation Department will post bus information on the district website, www.newburghschools.org,  during the last week of August. This information includes your child’s bus route, pick up and drop off times and bus stop.  If you have any questions or need to make any changes, please contact the District Transportation Department at 845-568-6833.
