Welcome Back Letter for Horizons PreK Families

Dear Pre-K at Horizon Family, 

Welcome to the NECSD Pre-K program. We’re so happy to have your child become part of our Horizons-on-the-Hudson Elementary School community! My name is Gillian Matos and I am honored to be the principal of Horizons-on-the-Hudson. I work with our amazing assistant principal, Ms. Karriem Bunce. We both look forward to continuing to help your scholars grow and be supported here at HOH. In addition, our team is excited to have your child experience our high quality early childhood program as the NECSD UPK program has been in operation for more than 50 years!

Important dates: 

Tuesday, September 5th - Pre-K Orientation is at 1:30pm and all families are welcome to attend.

Due to limited classroom space, we respectfully request that your group consist of no more than (2) adult guests and your Pre-K child.        

Wednesday, September 6, 2023 -  First day of school (Student drop off  9:15 a.m., bus information will be provided on the district website.

Back to School Block Party/Open House - Wednesday, September 20th at 5:00pm

Transportation: The District Transportation Department will post bus information on the district website, www.newburghschools.org,  during the last week of August. This information includes your child’s bus route, pick up and drop off times and bus stop.  If you have any questions or need to make any changes, please contact the District Transportation Department at 845-568-6833.

Immunization Information:   All scholars must have up to date immunizations per the Department of Health to attend an NECSD school for the 2023-24 school year.  More information can be found on our website, under the department heading and selecting Health Services.

Bienvenidos al programa de Pre-K de NECSD. ¡Estamos muy felices de tenerlo como parte de nuestra comunidad escolar de HOH! ¡Estamos muy contentos de que su hijo se convierta en parte de nuestra comunidad de Horizons-on-the-Hudson! Fechas importantes:

Martes, 5 de septiembre - La orientación de pre kínder es a la 1:30 p. m. y todas las familias pueden asistir.

Debido al espacio limitado en el salón de clases, solicitamos respetuosamente que su grupo esté compuesto por no más de (2) invitados adultos y su hijo/a de Pre-K.

Miércoles, 6 de septiembre, 2023 -  Primer día de clases (dejar a los estudiantes a las 9:15 a.m., la información del autobús se proporcionará por separado)

INFORMACIÓN DE VACUNAS: Todos los estudiantes deben tener las vacunas actualizadas según el Departamento de Salud para asistir a una escuela de NECSD para el año escolar 2022-23. Puede encontrar más información en nuestro sitio web, bajo el encabezado del departamento y seleccionando Servicios de Salud.
