Dear Fostertown Families,

It is with great joy and excitement that I return to Fostertown as principal. Many of you may know me formerly as Mrs. Santiago when I served Fostertown as assistant principal from 2015-2021. I thank you for welcoming me back and would like to take this opportunity to reintroduce myself for those who may not know me and introduce our new assistant principal.

I come to Fostertown with 21 years of educational experience in various roles. I have been with NECSD since 2007. My journey here began as a 6th grade teacher at Gardnertown School, math specialist at West St. School, STEM coach with central office, instructional coach at Gardnertown and Vails Gate schools, assistant principal at Fostertown, GAMS, and Gardnertown Schools. Prior to NECSD, I was a math teacher for grades 6/7/8 with the NYC Department of Education and at Brewster Central Schools in Brewster NY.

Mrs. Cameron will be joining me as assistant principal at Fostertown. Prior to joining the NECSD family, she was fortunate to serve in the education sector in many capacities. Mrs. Cameron gained great knowledge and experience as a special education teacher, dean of students and school administrator within the NYC Department of Education and Marlboro Central School District. As a highly adaptable and versatile educator, Mrs. Cameron has had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of students on all grade levels. While in Newburgh, she has served as an assistant principal at Heritage Middle School for the past six years and is super excited to begin her journey here at Fostertown School.

Our belief is that collaboration with staff and families enhances our scholars’ educational experiences.  As educators, we believe that it is important that we continue to learn from and grow with each other. 

We look forward to continuing to build our leaders and empowering them to be the leaders of today and tomorrow. We will be hosting a summer meet and greet on Tuesday, August 29th from 4pm-5pm near the playground. Estimadas familias de Fostertown,

Es con gran alegría y entusiasmo que regresó a Fostertown como principal. Muchos de ustedes quizás me conozcan anteriormente como la Sra. Santiago cuando trabajé en Fostertown como asistente principal desde el 2015 al 2021. Les agradezco por darme la bienvenida nuevamente y me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para presentarme nuevamente a aquellos que tal vez no me conozcan y a nuestra nueva asistente principal.

Vengo a Fostertown con 21 años de experiencia educativa en diversos roles. He estado en NECSD desde el 2007. Mi trayectoria aquí comenzó como maestra de sexto grado en la escuela Gardnertown, especialista en matemáticas en la escuela West St., entrenadora de STEM en la oficina central, entrenadora de instrucción en las escuelas Gardnertown y Vails Gate, asistente principal en las escuelas Fostertown, GAMS, y Gardnertown. Antes de NECSD, fui profesora de matemáticas para los grados 6/7/8 en el departamento de educación de la ciudad de Nueva York y en las escuelas centrales de Brewster en Brewster NY.

La Sra. Cameron se unirá a mí como asistente principal en Fostertown. Antes de unirse a la familia NECSD, tuvo la suerte de trabajar en el sector educativo en muchas capacidades. La Sra. Cameron adquirió un gran conocimiento y experiencia como maestra de educación especial, decana de estudiantes y administradora escolar dentro del departamento de educación de la ciudad de Nueva York y el distrito escolar central de Marlboro. Como educadora altamente adaptable y versátil, la Sra. Cameron ha tenido la oportunidad de trabajar con una población diversa de estudiantes en todos los niveles. Mientras estuvo en Newburgh, se desempeñó como asistente principal en Heritage Middle School durante los últimos seis años y está muy emocionada de comenzar su etapa aquí en Fostertown.

Nuestra creencia es que la colaboración con las familias mejora las experiencias educativas de nuestros estudiantes. Como educadores, creemos que es importante que sigamos aprendiendo y creciendo. Esperamos continuar formando a nuestros líderes y capacitándolos para que sean los líderes de hoy y de mañana. Organizaremos un día para conocer a los nuevos administradores (Meet and Greet) el martes, 29 de agosto de 4pm a 5pm cerca del patio de recreo.
