5th Graders Create Solar Ovens in Summer Up Program
GAMS teachers, Ms. Spencer-Smith, Ms. Keane, Mrs. Bulson, Mr. Scott and Mrs. Hinspeter, built solar ovens with their 5th grade Summer Up students as part of project based learning. Students watched a video on how to make the ovens, wrote out the steps they needed to take, and then built the ovens with a partner. They used the ovens to cook s’mores on the blacktop and then were able to enjoy them; some for the first time!
