Elementary Students Learn Financial Literacy Skills in Real Life Scenarios
Kindergarten classes from Gidney Avenue Memorial School (GAMS) were abuzz with excitement as they prepared to buy donuts for the first time. The students eagerly counted their money, eager to make a real-life financial transaction. As they walked to the nearby Dunkin, the children chattered and giggled with anticipation.
When they arrived, they carefully selected their favorite flavors, taking their time to examine the colorful options. Their eyes widened with delight as they took their first bites, savoring the sweet donut. The experience was a memorable one for the young students, who were thrilled to indulge in such a tasty treat with their classmates.
"This was a great learning experience for our students," said Matt Scully GAMS kindergarten teacher. "We were able to teach them the importance of being financially independent while supporting one of our local businesses."
