Section Champions! | Three-Peat
The Newburgh Free Academy Boys Varsity Basketball Goldbacks are Section Champions for the third consecutive year (Section IX, Class AA). The team defeated Middletown 52-42 on Thursday, March 2, 2023 for the title.
The Goldbacks advance to face the Section 4 champion in a subregional game on Tuesday, March 7th at 7:45 p.m. at Johnson City High School in the Binghamton area.
The Boys Varsity Basketball team is coached by head coach Jason McAllister and assistant coach Mike Robinson, along with JV head coach Tyree Smallwood, and volunteer Todd Cooper. McCallister, Robinson, and Cooper are all alumni of the NFA Basketball program.
