South Middle School performs Winter Concert
South Middle School performed their Winter Concert last week, featuring Concert Orchestra, 6th grade Chorus, Concert Band, and 7th & 8th grade Chorus.
Orchestra was conducted by Mr. Felix Robles and played three songs, Battlefront, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and The Tell Tale Heart. All songs included students playing the violin, viola, and cello.
6th grade Chorus was conducted by Mr. Rick Santacroce and accompanied by Ms. Becky Clina on piano and Mr. Kevin Lutz on drums. Students made up both Soprano and Alto sections and played Feliz Navidad and Happy New Year, Too!, As Long As There’s Christmas from Beauty and the Beast – Enchanted Christmas, Ocho Kandelikas (Eight Little Candles), and This Little Light of Mine.
Concert Band, conducted by Mr. Felix Robles played The Tempest, As Twilight Falls, and Bang Zoom! Instruments included: flute, trumpet, clarinet, trombone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and percussion.
7th & 8th grade Chorus, conducted by Mr. Rick Santacroce and accompanied by Ms. Becky Clina on piano and Mr. Kevin Lutz on drums, sang: Riu, Riu, Chiu (16th Century Spanish Carol), Christmas Time is Here, Hanukkah – A Season of Lights!, and A Marshmallow World. Students engaged the crowd by walking around the auditorium while singing and passing out candy during their final number.
Combined 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Chorus joined together to sing Jingle Bell Rock and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.
