GAMS 4th Graders Create 3-D Cell Models
4th grade scholars in Ms. Matula and Mrs. Kover’s class created 3-D cell models. They read non-fiction texts and researched the differences between plant and animal cells. They watched videos and actively engaged in the note-taking process to find additional information. The students worked in small groups to sort and classify facts. Students had the most fun when they worked with peers to create edible cell models which they diagrammed. Then, they independently created models which they presented to their peers and administration. During presentations, students had the opportunity to ask and answer questions and offer their peers feedback using content specific vocabulary.
