Reminder! Tomorrow! NFA Main Campus 9th Grade Orientation - August 25th

Dear NFA Freshman and Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Newburgh Free Academy Class of 2026! The 2022-2023 school year is fast approaching. Hopefully, you are having a restful and enjoyable summer.  We look forward to welcoming you to Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus as you begin the next step in your journey of learning and growth. 

In anticipation of the start of the school year, you are invited to participate in an orientation on Thursday, August 25th. The session will be held from 8 AM to 12 PM for students and from 8 AM to 9 AM for parents. Upon arrival, students and parents will report to the NFA Main Campus Auditorium.  

At 8 AM, there will be an assembly for both students and parents.  At this assembly, you will be introduced to the curriculum, school policies and other important information that you will need to know as you enter NFA.  After the assembly, parents will be dismissed.  If needed, parents will have an opportunity to sign up for Parent Portal (ID is required).  Parents will then return to the school at 12 PM to pick up their child.  

From 9 AM to 12 PM, students will participate in various activities including a tour of the building, in order to familiarize themselves with the school. Students will also be able to pick up a new Chromebook if they turn in their existing device with the charger.  NFA Main ITF staff will be able to assist with this switch.  We will end the orientation outside on Academy Field for a Class of 2026 photo.

Members of our staff and our guidance counselors, as well as the administrative team, will be in attendance. We look forward to meeting with you.

Students: Please bring your Chromebook and charger to receive a new device. 

Parents/Guardians: Please bring a photo ID to create a Parent Portal account if you do not already have one.

Estimados estudiantes y padres del grado nueve; 

¡Bienvenidos a Newburgh Free Academy clase de 2026! El año escolar 2022-2023 se acerca rápidamente. Espero que estén teniendo un verano tranquilo y agradable. Esperamos darle la bienvenida al Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus a medida que comienza el siguiente paso en su viaje de aprendizaje y crecimiento.

En anticipación del inicio del nuevo año escolar, están invitados a participar en una orientación el jueves 25 de agosto. La sesión se realizará de 8 am a 12 pm para estudiantes y de 8 am a 9 am para padres. A su llegada, los estudiantes y los padres se presentarán en el auditorio de la NFA Main Campus. 

A las 8 am, habrá una asamblea para estudiantes y padres. En esta asamblea, se les presentará el plan de estudios, las políticas escolares y otra información importante que necesitarán saber al ingresar a NFA. Después de la asamblea, los padres serán despedidos. Si es necesario, los padres tendrán la oportunidad de registrarse en el portal para padres (Parent Portal - se requiere identificación). Luego, los padres regresarán a la escuela a las 12:00 pm para recoger a su hijo.

De 9 am a 12 pm, los estudiantes participarán en diversas actividades, incluido un recorrido por el edificio, para familiarizarse con la escuela. Los estudiantes también podrán recoger un nuevo Chromebook si devuelven su dispositivo actual con el cargador. El personal de tecnología (ITF de la NFA) podrá ayudar con este intercambio. Terminaremos la orientación afuera en Academy Field tomando una foto de la Clase de 2026. 

Miembros de nuestra facultad y nuestros consejeros de orientación asistirán en estos esfuerzos, así como el equipo administrativo.

Estudiantes: traiga su Chromebook y cargador para recibir un nuevo dispositivo.

Padres/tutores: traiga una identificación con foto para crear una cuenta en el Portal para padres si aún no tiene una.
