NFA North Criminal Justice CO-OP Program Visit to Orange County Police Chiefs Police Academy
Mr. Mike Truncale from NFA North Security and Law Program brought students from the Criminal Procedure Co-Op class on a trip to the Orange County Police Chiefs Police Academy last week. The Orange County Police Chiefs Police Academy is located at Stewart Airport, New Windsor NY. Students were able to view first hand what an Active Police academy is like. There is currently a Class of 37 Police recruits in the Academy, which lasts for 26 Weeks.
Students were met by drill Instructors Babbitt and Fay, both Members of the Orange County Sheriffs Office. Students participated in a Q and A session with both instructors and received information on the daily schedule, requirement of recruits and other information involved in attending and successfully completing the 26 week program. Students were then able partake in the Daily inspection of recruits by Drill Instructors and witness a live demonstrations by Accident Reconstruction Investigators from New Windsor Police measuring skid marks of tire left on street during demonstration. The measurements will be used by recruits to determine the speed of the vehicle.
