NECSD Scholars Knock Performances Out of the Park at Hudson Valley Renegades Game
On Friday, May 13th the NECSD Empire Drumline and Horizons-on-the-Hudson Chorus performed at the Hudson Valley Renegades game. In addition, Horizons Principal, Mr. Robert Glowacki, alongside his daughter, threw a perfect strike to get the game underway with the ceremonial first pitch. Unfortunately, the Renegades went on to lose handily to the Aberdeen IronBirds, 8-3.
Despite the Renegades loss, the NECSD scholars provided a bright spot with their performances. Led by Ms. Kristina Martorano, the Horizons-on-the-Hudson Chorus performed along the first-base line. They sang the National Anthem at the start of the game and God Bless America and Take Me Out to the Ball Game during the 7th inning stretch. In between innings, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Empire Drumline, led by Mr. Dion Placencia, also performed on the field as well as in the stands. Each performance by both the HoH Chorus and the NECSD Empire Drumline received quite the ovation from the Renegades crowd.
