Social Media Post - Concerning Heritage Middle School

Dear Heritage Middle School Parents, Faculty and Staff, 

The district is aware of a post on social media that showed a firearm and a threatening message.  We immediately notified the Town of New Windsor Police Department. The district takes any threat to our district, students, faculty and staff seriously and will work with law enforcement to enforce the most appropriate consequences. 

At this time, the school will remain open. There will be additional presence of law enforcement from the New Windsor Police Department.  

We are extremely thankful to our students and families who continue to alert our building leaders to concerns they have seen, allowing us to react quickly. The identity of students who share their concerns with building principals will remain confidential.

If a student has questions or concerns, they should speak with a building principal or assistant principal, school counselor, social worker, school psychologist, or other adult that they trust.
