Resources to Help Support Children and Adults
Greetings NECSD Students and Families,
It can be overwhelming to think about how to discuss violence with children. Exposure to threats of community violence can affect everyone’s outlook on the future and their sense of control. NECSD recognizes this and is here to help.
Please see the district approved resources compiled by our NECSD Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Team, which includes school counselors, social workers, and school psychologists, to support you during this difficult time:
Talking to students/children about violence or threats of violence
How your child may feel after a tragic community event
