Balmville Scholars Provided Extra Motivation Before State Exams

In order to motivate Balmville Elementary scholars for the upcoming New York State Math Assessments, Mrs. Martin (Kindergarten Teacher) and Mrs. Ragusa (Teacher Assistant) wrote motivational statements on pencils for students that they will use for next week's exams. The words on the pencils serve to encourage the young scholars to do their best during the two day testing period.   Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Ragusa used The Little Engine That Could motif as a way of motivating the students to believe they can overcome any difficult task when they believe in themselves.
