Newburgh Free Library to Host Workforce Development Summit Part II
The Newburgh Free Library, in partnership with Open Hub, will be hosting the second Workforce Development Summit for the city of Newburgh on Tuesday, April 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium on the 4th floor - 124 Grand Street. Free parking on the corner of 2nd Street and Grand Street.
While our first summit focused on soft skills training and networking among the over 30 organization representatives that attended, the focus of this summit will be Manufacturing and Digital Technology opportunities.
Our Keynote Speaker is Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson who will address the disconnect between training and industry and the efforts he is making to ensure the pipeline works to address the needs of both job-seekers and employers.
Additional speakers include: Harold King, President, Council of Industry; Kathleen Smith, Orange/Ulster BOCES; Mary Jean Bertram, NY Workforce Development Institute; Peter Harris, Ulster BOCES Director of Learning and Design for the Career Pathways Programs; John Etri, Director of Careers and Technology Education, NECSD; Kevin Rothman, NFA P-TECH program; Yulia Ovchinnikova, CEO Open Hub; and Lisa Anderson, Entrepreneur and Manufacturer.
Please join us for a dynamic discussion. Let's work together to revitalize Newburgh!
