Vails Gate STEAM Academy Artists Create Neon Underwater Exhibit
Vails Gate STEAM Academy Art Specialist, Ms. Clift, created an underwater black light art exhibit with students. All students in grades Kindergarten-Fifth grade contributed a piece of art to the exhibit’s “Under the Sea” theme. Students learned about museums, exhibits, and the curation of artwork. The media students used consisted of paint, watercolor, crayon, oil pastel, clay, crayon, pastel, and paper collage. Over 500 pieces of art were highlighted in this exhibit. Students had an opportunity to visit the completed exhibit and discuss the artwork with their peers. Art Specialist Ms. Clift highlighted the NYS Art Standards of Connecting, Responding, Creating, and Presenting with the students.
Ms. Clift set up the museum-style exhibit in the Active Learning Space and created a schedule for all students and faculty members to view. Take a moment to enjoy photos and video from the exhibit!
Story, photos, and video submitted by Ms. Clift and Ms. Cruz.
