Balmville Students Use English and Writing to make Gratitude Pumpkins
Fifth grade scholars in Ms.D'Amico and Mrs. Crozzoli's class combined writing and English to create a festive, seasonal craft! Students worked to express and build upon ideas in writing, while using academic English grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling rules correctly. The Kindness Crew, as they are referred to, made Gratitude Pumpkins as centerpieces for their Thanksgiving tables, to give as gifts to family members, and created special pumpkins for multiple teachers around the building. Each strip of the pumpkin was an expression of gratitude and appreciation for the person the scholar intended to give it to.
