Annual NECSD Pink Day - 2021
For the last several years, NECSD has recognized Pink Day to honor those who have lost their battle with cancer. The first “Pink” Day was established by faculty and staff at Heritage Middle School in support of a colleague that was diagnosed with Breast Cancer over 10 years ago. During her fight the staff and faculty would all wear pink.
Each year since, we have continued the concept of Pink Day throughout the district to recognize all faculty, staff, and students who are currently battling, are survivors, or those who have lost their battles to any kind of cancer. On this special day, we ask that our NECSD community wear pink or any color that represents any form of cancer as a tribute to fighting cancer.
We also asked everyone who planned to attend the NFA Varsity Football game on Friday, October 1st to also wear their Cancer Colors in support of a loved one. Please email Ms. Santo (jsanto@necsd.net) if you would like to be involved in the event, have a suggestion of an honoree, or know someone who should be added to the In Memoriam list. Photos can be shared with Communications@necsd.net.
All photos throughout the day can be viewed and downloaded for free here.
