NFA West students present in Exhibition Series
This week, every NFA West student presented to their Advisory about an assigned topic. Freshmen presented demonstrations, a sort of teach your talent, and Sophomores through Seniors presented their research on college and careers. Each student started their presentation with a quote that inspires and motivates them. Student presenters then lead their peers in an ice breaker. Next, students gave their presented on their topic. Presentations lasted for a full 30 minutes with a few minutes at the end for questions. Students were evaluated on all elements of the presentation from planning to final presentation.
Parents and family members are invited to attend. Parent of senior, Gianna exclaimed, “I'm in amazement. She’s normally very quiet and reserved, but watching her present, her voice is really strong and she's taking control of her activity. This concept gets them out of their comfort zone and they’re doing a great job! This program, alternative learning, is long overdue and I'm already seeing improvements with my child. Not everyone can fit into that one certain mold of learning. This smaller, family environment is really bringing her out.”
Students will present on different topics three more times throughout the year. Presentations include research, developing the presentation, and leadership and public speaking skills.
